OUT OF THE SHADOWS

NO LONGER HIDDEN

ree

"I was so isolated in my addiciton that even when I went out in the open, nobody saw me. I was hidden." This is how Dana Townsend describes her life in the throws of addiction.

Dana sought out the Henry County Women's Recovery Center after seeing an ad on Facebook. She had tried different recovery programs before but left each needing more. "Being here feels divine, like I am supposed to be here. Nowhere else had what I needed," Dana says. "The Henry County Women's Recovery Center and it's donors saved my life and I want others to know that they are not hidden or alone. There is a program out there for you. There is hope!"

Dana started Phase 2 of her recovery journey this month. This is a huge accomplishment for any woman in recovery. For Dana it signifies growth and recognition of the trauma she has been able to release as a result of the Brain Rewiring program.

Because of donors like you, women like Dana are brought out of the shadows and now stand confidently seen by a Holy Father who created them for more than a life of addiction. If you know of someone who could become a monthly donor or if you are ready to start contributing to the Henry County Women's Recovery Center monthly, please visit our website to set up your contribution today.

NO LONGER QUIET

ree

Quiet is not a word we often use to describe our co-worker and friend, Susan Elsworth, but in her last position she was quiet. Fear of retribution and an atmosphere of competition, left her silent out of protection for herself.

Now, Susan volunteers 5 to 10 hours a week at the Henry County Women's Recovery Center and brings a bold and exciting energy to all of her interactions. Susan attends many Brain Rewiring classes and is the will soon begin Addiction Recovery Coach for women in Phases 2 and 3 of the program. Susan's focuses on helping heal relational bonds that have been damaged due to addiction.

Susan comes from a background of her own addictions. "It is really a call on my heart," Susan says. "My deliverance isn't just for my freedom. It is to be shared to provide hope and proof that the best days are yet to come."

Susan wants you to know that hope is what sets HCWRC a part from other programs. "It isn't focused on the number of days 'clean'. It is about living out our hope and extending it to others."
