THE WAYS OF PARTNERSHIP
You never know how or when God will turn our "I don't know how?" into a "Wow! I couldn't have guessed."
In January HCWRC wrote a grant for $126,000 believing that we would need every bit of that to secure a house and all the items needed to open the recovery center. Little did we know that God had a bigger, better plan in place.
It was just a few days after submitting the grant application that we met with Jim Becker (senior pastor at Foursquare in New Castle) and God began to orchestrate a partnership that would answer the prayers of both organizations.
Foursquare has had a heart for helping those facing addiction find healing and recovery for many years. In fact, Foursquare had a recovery home in the Freedom House for a decade that closed during COVID. Since then, they have been searching for a partner and an opening from God to walk back through the door to ministering to those needing recovery from addiction.
After multiple meetings between HCWRC and Foursquare a partnership was born. HCWRC now has a house to call a home for the women seeking recovery and Foursquare has a new ministry being run out of their Freedom House just as was intended. God has provided in a miraculous way and far exceeded our greatest expectations.
If you are wondering if HCWRC got the grant for $126,000, we did not. And for that we are grateful. Had we gotten the money that is all we would have received, just money. By following God's way and entering into the partnership with Foursquare we have the support and backing of a strong Christian body who desires to see the women of Henry County who are in bondage to addiction set free through the love of Jesus Christ. God's plan is better and as we walk this road of opening the center we know he will continue to "Wow!" us with His awesome ways.
THE WAYS OF VOLUNTEERS
On February 1st we took possession of the first side of the duplex (we will take possession of the other side in May) that was the Freedom House and will now be the Henry County Women's Recovery Center. The house has been used as a rental since 2020 and is in need of some renovations, updates and cleaning. In February, a Bethel Team from the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry in Redding, California visited New Covenant Worship Center. During their visit, they, and other families from New Covenant, came to the house to anoint, pray, and start the work of cleaning and preparing for renovations. It was a blessing to have work done both in the natural and the spiritual. When the women enter the house it will be undeniable that God's presence is there, both because we carry Him with us and because His word is literally written on the walls.
